Kindergarten Readiness

Are you wondering if your child will be ready to enter Kindergarten in the fall? Does
your child have a fall or late summer birthday? Is she more interested in free play than
teacher directed activity? Does he have a hard time handling his emotions? Come to
learn about what Kindergarten teachers really expect from children and how to assess if
your child will be ready to go or if he might do better with the “Gift of Time”. Learn
about activities and strategies to help your child make a smooth transition into Kindergarten.

This class will help your child feel more confident and you feel better prepared.
Stephanie Barry Agnew, BA, is the Coordinator of Parent Education at the new San
Mateo Parents Place office. She has an extensive background in Early Childhood
Education with 20 years of teaching experience in Palo Alto area schools. She was
trained at Bing Nursery School while getting her degree at Stanford and has taught all
preschool age groups. She owned her own small school in Palo Alto for 5 years and
worked as a parent educator for 10 years.
